Contrast sensors are primarily used in packaging/printing machines for the detection of printed or control marks.
The markless sensor is based on a pattern recognition principle. A taught-in image is used as a reference for the detection of a recurring contrast pattern.
Color sensors detect the color of a surface.
Luminescence sensors detect visible and non-visible marks that illuminate when using ultraviolet (UV) light.
