Continuous reef miners

Sandvik reef miners are unique, low-profile continuous mining machines designed to extract valuable ores from low reefs and seams underground, and to install rock bolts simultaneously. Operated by radio remote control, they have a rotating cutter head that sweeps from side to side, mining the ore by the undercut method. The machine gathers the broken ore simultaneously and conveys it back to the haulage system in a continual process that greatly improves safety, productivity and overall economy.
