AuRico Gold begins underground gold mining production at Young-Davidson Mine
 
AuRico Gold Declares Underground Commercial Production at the Young-Davidson Mine
 
TORONTO, Oct. 31, 2013 /CNW/ - AuRico Gold Inc. (TSX: AUQ) (NYSE: AUQ), ("AuRico" or the "Company") is pleased to report that the Young-Davidson underground mine has achieved commercial production effective October 31, 2013, following the successful commissioning of the shaft and hoisting infrastructure.
 
Commissioning of the shaft hoisting infrastructure is a key project milestone that unlocks the potential of the Young-Davidson underground mine and will support increased underground productivities and favourable unit cost efficiencies over the life of the mine.
 
"Commissioning the shaft marks the successful completion of a three year construction project that will position the Young-Davidson mine for long term success," stated Peter MacPhail, Chief Operating Officer.
