Nordex Explosives of Kirkland Lake, Ontario is expanding its services in the Ottawa and Kingston Region by increasing its storage and distribution capabilities.

The Kirkland Lake-based company announced it is finalizing an agreement to establish additional storage and distribution operations to better access and service the quarry and construction sector market in the Ottawa/Kingston region. It is expected that these additional facilities will be operational during the first half of 2015. The new operations will complement existing facilities previously established in Ontario including Kirkland Lake (primarily mining), Sudbury (mining and construction), Manitoulin Island (construction), Matheson (mining) and Muskoka (mining and construction).

The initial response to Nordex's plans has been well received by area quarry and construction companies.Nordex will work closely with existing and new clients to develop cost-saving initiatives of economic benefit to the users of the unique products and equipment available exclusively through Nordex Explosives Ltd. The initiative includes the identification of potential areas for cost savings through the maximization of the benefits of the unique qualities of several Nordex products. The initiative features measurable and quantifiable information that can be used by Nordex clients in assessing current operations and costs relative to their production cost per ounce or ton of material relative to their blasting methods/operations.

Nordex continues to proceed with its Western Canada expansion, with a location secured and applications being made for operational licenses. Nordex and its joint venture partner are targeting both the mining and construction sectors, with expected sales to commence in the first half of 2015.

Management continues to focus on providing Nordex products including the full line of Buttbuster and emulsion products and the Scorpion underground loading systems to new market areas.
