Advanteck UAV/Drone Services

About the Company

Advanteck Inc. was founded in 2009, by Robert (Bob) Jackman. The focus of the business is to employ technology in business applications to improve our clients’ bottom line. From the beginning of his career in 1980 Bob understood the importance of information and technology. Understanding these two aspects of business was the way of the future and he took every opportunity to learn how to employ technology and information acquisition throughout his career.

The earliest example was designing macro photography lab setup for research scientists to do in-house macro photography efficiently with consistent results within their lab facilities.

As computers became more common, Bob developed uniform values mapping symbology for the Ministry of Natural Resources. In the mid 1990’s he developed a stream crossing toolkit to pre-approve a suite of tools for a year’s worth of applications, eliminating the need for individual permit application for each stream crossing.

As the second generation of PDA’s became available Bob led the development of electronic field data collection making the task more efficient by eliminating duplication of effort of re-entering the data collected into models.

As the Sawmill Log Yard Manager he brought in AutoCad and aerial photography to implement log yard plans. In partnership with a research institute he was the first to install equipment monitoring in log yard equipment to monitor equipment cycles and improve log yard management. He designed and implemented a statistically based sampling and wood measurement procedure that eliminated the need of over $1M worth of yard equipment.

He discovered flaws in the wood measurement procedures that led to:
1) eliminating a 7% volume over-estimation; and
2) redesigning the wood measurement system for contractor pay and log yard inventory.

The wood measurement and sampling procedure eliminated a persistent inventory measurement problem that had persisted for over 10 years.

In 2009, Robert founded Advanteck Inc. and for the first three years was the Assistant General Manager for a contracting firm. He bid and managed projects in excess of $3.5M.

In 2011 he dedicated his efforts to developing a GPS Navigation System to eliminate the need for manual boundary flagging in land clearing operations. This is something that had been on his mind for a number of years. The system has been successfully operating since November, 2012 in forestry operations, which operates 24/7, in all weather conditions and in the toughest work environments in the North.

These experiences speak to an individual who is dedicated and persistent in finding a better way of performing tasks.
In June of 2014 Advanteck Inc. began evaluating the unmanned aerial vehicle industry and how it could be utilized to perform a variety of information gathering efforts more efficiently and indeed with a professional level of accuracy. The UAS business potential is wide ranging and too numerous outline here. We invite you to browse through our website for details.
