Kal Tire is able to provide a fully outsourced solution including tire procurement, forecasting, management, fitting, tooling, and innovative tire monitoring systems along with 24-hour service and training.

In addition to mine sites, Kal Tire’s tire management service can also be found at ports, construction projects, quarries, steel mills and sugar cane plantations. Among many notable projects that Kal Tire is a part of, is the expansion of the Panama Canal.

Warehouse Facilities

Kal Tire has four warehouse facilities strategically located across Canada to service the more than 240 store locations. Products are distributed from the warehouses and retread plants via a dedicated fleet of 48 tractors and 350 trailers. This distribution system is designed to ensure customers have the product they need, when they need it.

To further enhance the distribution network, construction was completed on a container handling yard in Chilliwack, BC, and an expansion took place at the Brampton, ON, facility. Work is also underway to further expand the warehouse in Acheson, AB.

Retreading Capabilities

For over 40 years Kal Tire has been manufacturing quality retread tires, having always believed that by deferring the final disposal, retreading is recycling. Retreading existing tires provides customers with a significant cost-effective alternative to buying new tires while significantly lower environmental impact.

Kal Tire is the largest truck tire retreader in Canada. Using the Bandag process, the company is able to offer a variety of application-specific treads that provide superior fuel efficiency and tire wear. The organization has 10 Bandag retread facilities across Canada retreading in excess of 370,000 tires a year.

The Mining Tire Group one of the largest OTR retreaders globally with four OTR retread facilities; two in Canada, one in the United Kingdom and one in Ghana, West Africa. A retread tire solution is available to meet the needs of all earthmover tire users in whatever environment the vehicle is working, either in the more traditional “smooth and groove” form or using state-of-the-art remould technology.
