About Johanna
In the workforce structure, Joanne has worked in the capacity of direct care, Senior Management and Executive Director. She has a good understanding of workplace practices
Joanne has supported families having children with disabilities for over thirty years. Mental health problems have greatly impacted her family life, and Joanne speaks of her own experiences.
Joanne's passion and commitment to enjoying life comes from her firm belief that life is short, often difficult, yet can be fun!
What has Joanne done?
• Developmental Services Worker (Sheridan College) supporting families and their children with disabilities since 1982 including volunteer coordinator
• bilingual Mental Health First Aid Instructor (Mental Health Commission of Canada ) 2013
• Professional clown (Sir Sandford College) 2007
• Chartered herbalist (Dominion Herbal College) 1991
• Mom and partner (learning on the job) since 1988
• Ongoing support to family members with mental health problems
