Our Values

Securitas’ three fundamental values are: Integrity, Vigilance and Helpfulness. They serve as guidance for all of our employees in building trust with customers, colleagues and the surrounding community.

Integrity
A Securitas employee is honest and therefore trusted to work unsupervised on the customer’s premises and with valuables. Securitas never compromises in its demand for integrity. Integrity also includes openly expressing one’s opinion, reporting improprieties and not withholding information.

Vigilance
Professionalism entails seeing, hearing and evaluating. A Securitas employee is always attentive and often notices things that others don’t. Their vigilance is necessary in order to be aware of potential risks or incidents that may take place on our customers’ premises.

Helpfulness
When needed, a Securitas employee will lend assistance, even if it is not directly related to his or her job. As part of an ongoing effort to make life safer, a Securitas employee will always help if an incident occurs that requires intervention.

Strategy

Securitas is a knowledge leader in security. Our core business is integrated security solutions. The main service offering categories are specialized guarding, mobile security services, monitoring, technical solutions and consulting and investigation services. From a broad range of services, we customize offerings that are suited to the individual customer’s needs, in order to deliver the most effective security solutions.

Reaching our targets
To maintain our strong position in the security industry, we need to reach our targets of operational excellence and financial performance. We believe that this means to continuously climb the value chain and create more value for our customers. To do so, we focus on the integration of all our areas of competence in complete security solutions and to increase the share of technology content.

Security solutions and technology
Together with the customers, Securitas develops optimal, cost-effective security solutions that are suited to the customers’ needs. The key is finding the right balance between the different competencies; security officers on site, mobile security officers and specially trained security officers in a monitoring center, and to what extent security officers or technology solutions should be used. When doing so, it results in optimal solutions for our customers, stronger, more long-term customer relationships and improved profitability.

In 2012, the sales of security solutions and technology constituted approximately 6 percent of Securitas' total sales. We have set a target to triple this share of sales, which should be achievable by the end of 2015. The technology is developed, as is the knowledge and the market, and we know that more technology content in a security contract decreases the customers’ total cost for a satisfactory security solution.

Intelligent video surveillance is expected to grow in importance in the security industry in the years to come. We believe this technology of real-time security will be a key differentiator among security companies and are therefore investing a lot in this area. We have, for example, created a   global competence center in Malmö, Sweden for Remote Video Solutions where global concepts and solutions are developed to support the country organizations.

Expanding our global footprint
An important part of our long-term strategy is to expand our global footprint, in order to keep a strong position in the security industry and to be able to serve our global customers. However, we will continue to be restrictive and selective regarding acquisitions in general with the exception of acquisitions that strengthen our position in new markets or technology operations that create synergies and competence along our strategic path of increasing technology content and climbing the value chain.
