Our History
 
Established in 1878, SGS transformed grain trading in Europe by offering innovative agricultural inspection services. The Company was registered in Geneva as Société Générale de Surveillance in 1919. Shares were first listed on (SWX) Swiss Exchange in 1985. Since 2001, we have only one class of shares consisting of registered shares.
 
The current structure of our company, consisting of ten business segments operating across ten geographical regions, was formed in 2001. From our beginnings in 1878 as a grain inspection house, we have steadily grown into our role as the industry leader. We have done this through continual improvement and innovation and through supporting our customers’ operations by reducing risk and improving productivity.

Quality Assurance Inspector

Reporting to the Operation Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for supervising the manufacturing of different components to ensure compliance with technical drawings, client specifications and applicable standards according to SGS procedures.

Electrical Inspector - Utilities
  • Prepare and maintains deficiency list, from the onset of the contract, along with input from all Project team personnel, and tracks corrective action of deficiency items. Reviews against Contractor’s deficiency list as discussed at regular status meetings.
  • Monitors the Contractor’s receipt of materials as per the Owners Requirements and verifies the storage and handling of all materials for compliance with Manufacturer's recommendations, industry best practices, and
Site Inspector - Utilities

Senior Account Executive - Infrastructure

The Account Executive will be responsible for and prepare individual sales action plans, and tactics aligned with the overall sales strategy, target markets, and service off offerings to ensure a targeted and focused approach that will deliver on the overall growth strategy of the business and maximize profit. 

Project Controls Lead - Construction
  • Support project execution team on cost, time, schedule, change management and reporting for successful project executions
  • Integration of scope, cost, schedule and progress of the assigned projects
Lead Estimator - Construction
  • Develop the estimate preparation plan in line with the overall project strategy
  • Document in an organized and structured fashion the estimates of different options considered for the project.
Lead Cost Control - Construction
  • Provide input to the development of cost management project plan and related cost management procedures.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of the Project Cost Estimate.
Utilities Coordinator
  • Provide technical review and guidance to staff for the coordination of private and public utility relocation/installations.
  • Participate in negotiations with utility asset owners for relocating/installing utilities.
Construction Director
  • Review design documents and construction contract/procurement documents at key stages to ensure they are constructible and enforceable.
  • Provide input to reduce project costs and minimize the potential for disruptive delays and claims to complete Work on time, within budget, and to a level of quality requisite for each undertaking.
NDT - Rope Access Technicians

SGS is seeking Rope Access - NDE Technicians with a minimum of CGSB UT certification and IRATA Certification to support our various upcoming Turnaround Projects in Fort McMurray, AB Canada.
