Building Culture of Entrepreneurship
The project develops a strong independent culture of entrepreneurship with participating First Nation communities by building capacity and skills enhancement to respond to business opportunities. We recognize a strong, diversified economy is a necessary component of healthy and sustainable communities.
Program Objective
The Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund’s Nishnawbe Maajijikaywin Business Information Officer (BIO) Project is funded in partnership with Ministry of Colleges Training & Universities through Ontario Job Creation Program. What is most important is that we customize the work plan of each BIO to fit the unique needs of each community.

• Develop a business development strategy for the community
• Business coaching
• Support Economic Development Officers (EDO) in developing community business proposals
• Assist communities in identifying and establishing micro loan funds
• Identify and assist individuals and communities to gain access to capital
• Assist in developing community strategic plans
• Assist with the coordination of youth entrepreneurial activities

BUSINESS SUPPORT OFFICER
The Business Support Officer provides business support services to clients of Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund.
