THE QMEA IS CONTINUING ITS ACTIVITIES NORMALLY

ROUYN-NORANDA, MARCH 17, 2020 – In light of the global concerns about the COVID-19 outbreak and the Government of Quebec’s announcement on March 12, 2020, we would like to inform you of our status. At this time, the QMEA is continuing to operate as normal, including Explo Abitibi and Xplor 2020.
 
Rest assured that the event organizers are monitoring the situation very closely and are ready to do everything in their power to comply with the Public Health Agency of Canada’s guidelines. In addition, the organizing committee will take adequate precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy during the events. The safety of our participants and staff remains our top priority. Please note that we will keep you informed of any developments through our newsletters or the QMEA website.

COULD EXPLO ABITIBI OR XPLOR 2020 BE POSTPONED?
 
At this time, we do not intend to cancel or postpone the events due to the COVID-19. The organizing committee will keep monitoring the situation and will communicate new developments or recommendations from the authorities.
 
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THE EVENTS ARE POSTPONED?
 
Should the events be postponed due to COVID-19, registration fees will be transferred. If you are unable to attend on the new dates, we will work with you to find an appropriate solution.

ABOUT THE QUEBEC MINERAL EXPLORATION ASSOCIATION (QMEA)
 
QMEA is a professional and industrial association that represents mining exploration stakeholders Quebec. It was founded in 1975 to increase mining exploration in Quebec and support development of Quebec’s mining entrepreneurship. Today, the QMEA represents 1,200 individual members and 200 corporate members.
