Covid 19 Update

Jun 15, 2020
Boozhoo Members,

A community member of Rainy River First Nations has tested positive for COVID-19.

Fort Frances Tribal Area Health Services has been in communication with the individual and has initiated contact tracing. Contact tracing helps reduce the risk to the community and the public. FFTAHS has confirmed Community Health Nurses have already been in direct communication with all community members that may have had close contact. Close contacts include anyone who had close physical contact, within 2 metres, for more than 15 minutes.

As a Community, we have been doing all we can and kept our numbers at ZERO for a long time. We need to continue to keep practicing the COVID 19 safety measures.

You are encouraged to stay vigilant in maintaining public health measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

– Self-monitor for any symptoms

– Self-isolate if symptoms develop and contact your Community Health Nurse

– Practice frequent hand hygiene

– Maintain physical distancing measures

– Practice mask use when physical distancing not possible

Please remember to contact Juanita if you think you may have encountered anyone suspected or confirmed positive for COVID 19.

FFTAHS will be present in Rainy River First Nations on Tuesday June 16, 2020 to conduct an additional testing clinic for community members who may be concerned about their risk of COVID-19. Please contact Juanita at 807.271.6481 to book a time slot. Individuals can also be tested at the Riverside Assessment Centre by calling (807)274-3261, ext. 4913.
