Also, the Civil Electrical Engineer Gladys Hernández Sepúlveda was ratified as Executive Secretary of the Mining Commission, a position she has held since November 2009.

 

The Board of Directors thanked the management carried out by the former members of the Board of the Commission: Sergio Vicencio, President; Ricardo Arias, Vice President and Hans Göpfert and Ricardo Miranda, Directors.

 

The Qualifying Commission of Competencies in Mining Resources and Reserves is governed by Law No. 20,235 of the Ministry of Mining, which stipulates that it is the entity in charge of managing the Public Registry of Qualified Competent Persons in Mining Resources and Reserves. It establishes the duration of three years of the positions of the board of directors, and in the case of the president, he cannot be re-elected for the following period.

 

About the new President

 

Aquiles González is a Geologist from the University of Chile, Master of Science Mineral Exploration, Imperial College, University of London. He has worked at Minera El Indio, Codelco Chile, Div. Salvador, Minera Doña Inés de Collahausi, Minera Los Pelambres and Antofagasta Minerals SA To date, he works as Resource Evaluation Manager in the latter company. He is a Competent Person in Mining Resources and Reserves, certified in Chile, since April 2015 and Member of the Society of Economic Geologists, USA.
