Hogfuel Chain Conveyor
Case Study Outline:
Application: Various heavy duty chain incline conveyors.
Liner: TIVAR SuperPlus
Bulk Material: Wood chips and wood pulp
Problem: Excessive chain wear and drag on steel pan. Existing plastic liner didn’t last very long.
Background:
Large pulp and paper facility was concerned about wear on the hogfuel chain and efficient conveying of wood product.
Problem:
The existing plastic liner supplied by a local company failed after a short time. Going back to no liner would cause premature replacement of the costly conveyor chain.
Solution:
TIVAR SuperPlus liners were supplied to fit into existing conveyor pan and were installed by plant maintenance staff.
Result:
After the TIVAR SuperPlus liners were installed, hogfuel chain worked smoothly eliminating noise, drag on drive motors and sticking of wood pulp to conveyor pan. After 2 years of operation, the liners have shown minimal visible wear.
