The largest percentage of Kamloops’ job growth and capital investment comes from companies already doing business within our city. In fact, Venture Kamloops allocates a good percentage of its annual budget to support programs and services that promote the development and growth of our existing businesses. We understand that it’s critical to not only monitor the health and expectations of these businesses, but to also understand the perceptions that could adversely impact their growth.

 

To help nurture and sustain growth, Venture Kamloops has a number of programs available:

• VK Venture Advisors: this free program was initially started for new entrepreneurs to see if their ideas for business could thrive. The program is also used for existing businesses to present their ideas to the VK Venture Advisors who act as a sounding board providing valuable feedback and professional advice. Incentive Programs & Financing: there are so many programs available through the municipal, provincial and federal governments that are rarely utilized by business owners due to lack of time, being unaware, or lack of experience with the application process. Venture Kamloops’ goal is to change that for the local business owner. • The Right People – the First Time: the team at Venture Kamloops works with many businesses, and in the course of a year, we help a good number of those businesses work through potential road blocks when trying to expand, apply for incentive programs or overcome other obstacles.
