Corporate Social Responsibility

The basis for our corporate responsibility is defined in a Code of Conduct document that has been implemented at all locations. Santasalo Moventas assesses its corporate responsibility from economical, environmental, human rights, labour, product responsibility and society aspects.

 

Our commitment

 

A significant part of our products' end-use is connected to renewable energy. In practice, every gear solution provided to wind turbines or to other renewable energy generation contributes to decreasing the use of fossil fuels and slowing down the climate change. All our gear units are also energy efficient and of high quality, thus extending the machinery's lifetime, preventing energy loss and minimizing downtime, interruptions or need of reparation.

 

In our environmental performance, we follow the ISO 14001 standard. All new and a majority of our old product information is stored in a Product Lifecycle Management system that ensures traceability of all products sold and components and materials used.

 

We review our environmental impact with the help of an Environmental Balance Sheet. The balance sheet reports incoming raw materials, used energy, chemicals and water as well as generated emissions, waste, recycled material and sewage, manufactured gears and logistics. Health and safety is given priority in all our operations.

 

We respect the universal human rights as defined by United Nations. Our Code of Conduct defines the policies, practices are documented in the global HR policy and they all comply with applicable local laws and regulations.
