Formwork and Сoncreting

Aug 19, 2015

Formwork consists of producing the moulds used for concreting. It involves building a temporary frame to be filled with construction materials. This technique is used to keep the materials in place until they take hold and harden. Formwork is used to create a shape defined by the external surface of the frame in building, construction and design projects.

The key tasks of building formworkers are: building temporary wooden or steel structures; pouring concrete, giving it the desired shape and protecting it while it dries; removing the frame when the concrete has hardened and the structure is stable.

The key tasks of construction formworkers are: building wooden or metal structures to strengthen or hold the ground, avoiding collapses or sinking in wells, underground passages, mines, etc.

The key tasks of decorative formworkers are: building wooden, plywood, stone or concrete structures in order to conceal unsightly elements such as piping; and coating the formwork with an aesthetic material such as paint.
