What ITH drill specail features are required to handle the V-30 ?

• 30 000 Pound  (13 608 kg ) Pulling or pushing capacity
• The top drive capacity must be at least  5200 foot/pounds (7070 Joules)

What underground air pressure is required ?

• Mine Air, usually supplied at 90 - 100 PSI (6.2 - 6.9 bar),  must be boosted as to deliver 1400 CFM (40 M3M) of air at 350 PSI (23.5 bar) to the 6 inch V-30 Hammers.

What are the electrical requirements of the drill and booster when operating the V-30?

• Depending on the ITH drill chosen, electrical requirements are in the range of 200 AMPS at 550V, 60 cycle.

Is water required using this drilling method?

• Water is mainly used to abate the dust generated from drilling and to cool the booster compressors. The volume of water required is approximately 3 to 5 GPM (13 - 22 LPM).

What diameter hole does the V-30 drill?

• The V-30 drills a 762mm (30 inch) hole.

What is the V-30 drilling sequence?

• A 16.5cm (6.5 inch) Pilot hole is drilled and reamed to 25 cm (10 inch), then the V-30 is attached to drill to 762mm (30 inch).

What is the maximum angle of drilling?

• The V-30 can drill from 45 a 90 degrees.

What is the maximum length of drilling?

• Blind boring 35 m (115 FT)
• Down reaming 45 m (150 FT)
• Conventional drilling 120 m (400 FT)

What is the average V-30 penetration rate?

• Average of 1 to 2.5m (3 to 8 FT) per hour, depending on rock hardness.
