Results of the 2019 Research Grant Program:
$812,000 was awarded to 392 graduate students (~52% of the 748 who applied for 2019), with an average grant of $2,071.
 
Sarah Crump, while a Ph.D. student at the University of Colorado, Boulder, received a GSA Research Grant for her proposal: “Arctic ecosystems in a warmer world: Reconstructing past vegetation and climate using ancient DNA and paleothermometry on Baffin Island, Arctic Canada."

Partial travel scholarship awards to those traditionally underrepresented in the geosciences.

Farouk El-Baz Student Research Grant
This grant is to encourage and support desert studies by students either in their senior year of their undergraduate studies, or at the masters or Ph.D. level.
