LIFE FOR TODAY’S CREE
The Cree Nations once lived in areas scattered all around North America and Canada. In the USA, most Cree can be found living in Montana, but they can still be found throughout the continent. The same is true for those in Canada. They are spread out in the nation’s provinces from Quebec to Alberta. Some live in the Saskatchewan or Manitoba.
The population is growing still. It is said that in the 1600’s, there were approximately 30,000 Cree. In 1995, in Canada alone, it was estimated that there were at least 76,000. According to the US census in 2000, there were 2,445 Cree and more than 8,837 people with Cree in their heritage.

WHERE THE FUTURE MAY LEAD…
The Cree Nations are not perfectly secure. Many still prefer to live off the land as they were intended to do. However, each year, more and more people flock to areas and remove the wildlife the Cree may hunt or fish for. They take up land that is needed for survival by the Cree. When will it end? Sadly, this Cree Indian Prophecy may be on the right track about our future.
