Update on RRFN Measures COVID 19 From Chief Robin McGinnis

Mar 19, 2020
I am relieved to know that, to date, there continues to be no reported cases of COVID-19 among Rainy River First Nations members.

Our most effective defense against this virus is to limit contact with others and we are doing everything we can to ensure the health and safety of our members during this crisis.

Over the past week, we have implemented further precautions related to the COVID 19 pandemic.

The administration office has been closed for all non-essential services. Staff are continuing to work from home where possible.
Regular visits are being conducted at the homes of our elderly residents and other vulnerable community members to ensure their well-being.
Food packages are being provided to all residences within the community.
All leadership and staff that have returned from abroad within the past two weeks are required to self-quarantine for a minimum of 14 days.
These measures are being implemented as part of the community’s recently developed Emergency Response Plan and are designed to support actions being taken across the country and around the globe.

We understand that this is a difficult time and we appreciate your patience.

Miigwech,

Chief Robin McGinnis
