Our leadership team - and all Pinchin staff members - are dedicated to serving clients with expertise, dedication and integrity. Every one of our Executive Leadership Team members has a unique breadth and depth of experience and education in the environmental services industry, founded on a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities all businesses face in today’s market.

Don Pinchin, BSc., MASc., PhD
President

Dr. Donald Pinchin is founder and President of Pinchin Environmental (1981) and Vice President of Pinchin LeBlanc Environmental Ltd., Le Groupe Gesfor Poirier, Pinchin Inc. and PHH ARC Environmental Ltd.

Don is well known as the author of "Asbestos in Buildings" published by the Ontario Royal Commission on Asbestos (1982). This seminal document forms the basis of most Asbestos in Buildings regulations in Canada.

Don travels the country teaching many of the company’s popular training courses; provides consulting services to clients; and appears as an expert witness.

Don holds a PhD in Physics from Cambridge University, an MASc. and a BSc. in Physics and Chemistry, both from the University of Toronto.


 

Jeff Grossi, CA
Chief Operating Officer, Finance & Operations

 

Jeff leads and oversees the general management of the operational and financial matters of the company, including Finance and Administration, Human Resources and Information Technology departments.  

Jeff manages the strategic planning process and operating management effectiveness areas, focusing on enhancing service lines to meet client needs, and driving the company’s growth.  

With his two decades of experience in almost every facet of management, Jeff’s background spans a wide variety of industries including consulting, manufacturing, distribution, real estate management and property services. Jeff is a Chartered Accountant who holds a BA (Economics) from the University of Toronto.


 

Larry Backman, B.Sc.S
Senior Vice President, National Accounts & Ottawa Office

Larry is the principal contact/client manager for national clients with regard to their environmental issues and is the lead consultant on numerous portfolios involving assets located throughout North America.  With over 20 years in the engineering consulting industry, combined with experience in government environmental compliance, he has led hundreds of environmental liability and due diligence assessments for public offerings, financing (REIT's), insolvencies, underwriting and mergers and acquisitions, applying the business application of the technical results to the specific needs of clients.

Larry holds a BSc.S with specialization in Biology/Geology from Acadia University.
 


 

Vico Paloschi, M.Sc., P.Geo., QP
Senior Vice President, Environmental Due Diligence & Remediation

 

Vico offers clients expertise in transactional due diligence in the commercial, residential, industrial and manufacturing sectors; environmental assessments and remediation; and environmental risk management. He has over 20 years of experience involving a wide spectrum of projects for financial, legal and corporate clients across North America, Europe and the Caribbean.

Vico has led numerous Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments, compliance audits, real estate transaction audits, site remediation programs, facility decommissioning and redevelopment projects, and hydrogeological studies.

Vico holds both an Honours BSc. in Geology and an MSc.in Hydrogeology/Earth Sciences. 


 

Don Stefanchuk
Senior Vice President, Regional Manager, Environmental Management

 

Don is responsible for all areas of Pinchin’s Environmental Management operational and business success in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.

With over two decades of experience in environmental consulting services—from High Arctic ventures to large-scale asbestos abatement, Don oversees comprehensive environmental site assessments and sustainability initiatives to building owners, engineers and architects.

Don is currently an Environmental Advisor to the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce and a board member of Green Manitoba. A frequent presenter and trainer on environmental assessment and management, Don is known for his ability to translate complex issues into practical and actionable information and strategies for clients.


 

Bruce Stewart, B.Sc., DOHS, CIH, ROH
Senior Vice President,
- Indoor Air Quality & Microbial Contamination
- Environmental Laboratory Services
- Occupational Health & Safety

Bruce is the Pinchin services leader for mould and indoor air quality investigations and consulting on lead hazards in buildings and construction, also providing expert witness services.  Certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and by the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists, he has broad experience as a trainer and facilitator for health and safety issues, and is a frequent speaker at industry events. He has provided expert witness services for mould and indoor air quality issues, and asbestos building materials.

Bruce holds a B.Sc. from the University of Waterloo, and a diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from McMaster University.


 

Robert Thomas, BASc., P. Eng
Senior Vice President, Hazardous Materials

Robert is the Pinchin service leader for Hazardous Materials. He provides asbestos and other hazard materials’ assessment and control consulting services to Pinchin’s major clients in the property management, financial, and industrial sectors, also assisting them with the establishment of policies and procedures.

With over two decades of experience, Robert delivers hazardous materials’ education seminars and talks to real estate, financial and property management groups.

He holds a BASc. (Civil Engineering), from the University of Waterloo, and is a licensed engineer in the province of Ontario.
