ROSS J. BEATY, C.M.
Director and Chairman
 
Mr. Beaty founded Pan American Silver and currently serves as Chairman of the Board. He is also a member of the Finance Committee. Mr. Beaty is a geologist and resource entrepreneur with over 45 years of experience in the international minerals and renewable energy industries. He is an internationally recognized leader in both non-renewable and renewable resource development, having founded and divested several companies. In addition to Pan American Silver, he is the Chairman of Equinox Gold Corp., a mid-tier gold producer. Mr. Beaty is also a well-known environmental philanthropist, primarily through The Sitka Foundation. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Nature Trust of B.C. and is Patron of the Beaty Biodiversity Center at the University of B.C. He is a Director of The Pacific Salmon Foundation, the B.C. Parks Foundation, and Panthera. Mr. Beaty holds a M.Sc., in Mineral Exploration (with Distinction) from the Royal School of Mines, University of London, England, and an LL.B. (Law) and a B.Sc. (Honours Geology) from the University of British Columbia. Mr. Beaty has received many awards and honours for his business and philanthropic achievements, including the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame (2018), the Order of Canada (2017) and Doctor of Laws honoris causa, University of British Columbia (2018).
 
 
 
MICHAEL L. CARROLL
Mr. Carroll joined Pan American’s Board of Directors in 2011, and Chairs the Audit and Finance Committees. He is a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of financial management expertise, primarily with publicly traded mining companies including Homestake Mining Company, Bond International Gold, and Cumberland Resources Ltd. His professional expertise includes equity and debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, IFRS, GAAP, international tax planning and regulatory reporting. Mr. Carroll also served as Chair of the Audit Committee and designated financial expert of Centenario Copper Corporation between 2006 until its acquisition in 2009.
 
 
 
NEIL DE GELDER, QC
Mr. de Gelder joined Pan American’s Board of Directors in 2012. He Chairs the Nominating and Governance Committee, and is a member of the Audit Committee. He is also a senior officer of Stern Partners, a private diversified investment firm based in Vancouver. Mr. de Gelder has over 25 years’ experience as a lawyer specializing in corporate, M&A, financing and governance matters with a major Canadian law firm. Mr. de Gelder is a past Executive Director of the British Columbia Securities Commission, and has served on a wide variety of corporate, crown, charitable and community boards over the years.
 
 
 
CHUCK JEANNES
Mr. Jeannes joined Pan American’s Board of Directors in 2019, and is a member of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee and the Health, Safety, Environment and Communities Committee. He has over 30 years of mining industry experience. Until its acquisition by Pan American in February 2019, Mr. Jeannes was a director of Tahoe Resources Inc. From 2008 to 2016, he was the President and CEO of Goldcorp Inc., leading the company’s development into one of the world’s largest and most successful gold mining companies. Prior to that he served as Goldcorp’s Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development. Mr. Jeannes has also held senior positions with Glamis Gold Ltd., where he played a key role in acquiring, financing and developing the Marlin, El Sauzal and Peñasquito mine, and with Placer Dome Inc. He also practiced law for 11 years, specializing in mining transactions. Mr. Jeannes holds a B.A. degree from the University of Nevada (1980) and graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law with honors in 1983.
 
 
 
WALTER T. SEGSWORTH
Mr. Segsworth joined Pan American’s Board of Directors in 2009, and is our Lead Independent Director. He chairs the Health, Safety Environment and Communities Committee and is a member of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee. Mr. Segsworth has over 45 years of experience in mining in Canada and overseas and holds a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from Michigan Tech. He has served on the Boards of Directors of several mining companies including Westmin Resources, where he was President and CEO, and Homestake Mining Company, where he was President and COO. He was also the former Lead Director of the Board of Alterra Power Corp. Mr. Segsworth is past Chair of both the Mining Associations of BC and Canada and was named BC’s Mining Person of the year in 1996.
 
 
 
MICHAEL STEINMANN
President & Chief Executive Officer
 
Mr. Steinmann joined Pan American’s Board of Directors in 2016 and is a member of the Health, Safety, Environment and Communities Committee and the Finance Committee. Mr. Steinmann has been with the Company in different roles since 2004. He was promoted to President in 2015 and named President and CEO in 2016. Mr. Steinmann has over 25 years of experience in the base and precious metals industry.  He holds a Ph.D. in Natural Science (Geology) from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ), a M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Zurich, and a Degree in Corporate Finance from Escuela Superior de Administración y Negocios, Lima. Mr. Steinmann has extensive experience throughout South America in mine operations and project development, having participated in numerous mine construction projects from exploration and feasibility studies, through start-up and into continuous operation. He is also experienced in corporate M&A and has been involved in many capital market transactions, including placements of equity and debt, as well as numerous other exploration and business development initiatives. Mr. Steinmann is currently the President of the Silver Institute, a non-profit international industry association that aims to increase public understanding of the many uses and values of silver.
 
 

GILLIAN D. WINCKLER
Ms. Winckler joined Pan American’s Board of Directors in 2016. She Chairs the Human Resources and Compensation Committee, and is a member of the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Governance Committee. Ms. Winckler is a former mining and business executive with over 25 years of diversified experience in the metals and mining industry and the financial sector. Ms. Winckler spent 16 years with BHP Billiton in London, England and Vancouver, Canada where she was involved with corporate and divisional strategy, mergers and acquisitions, divestments, exploration as well as project evaluation and development. She subsequently joined Coalspur Limited, serving as CEO and President and also serving as CFO for a brief period. Prior to the mining industry, Ms. Winckler spent five years as a corporate financier in South Africa and London and five years in the auditing profession. Ms. Winckler is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa), with a BSc and BComm (Hons) obtained in South Africa. Her professional expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, IFRS, GAAP, risk management and regulatory reporting.

Senior Cost Accountant

In this role, you will work with the operations team to consolidate the annual budget, accounting process and preparing short term forecasts.

IT System Administrator

The role of the IT System Administrator will be responsible for assisting staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, networks, and related technologies.

Chief Mine Engineer

In this position, you will be responsible for supervising all mine engineering staff and managing all mine functions at the Timmins West Mine to maximize the operation’s performance in a safe manner. 

Geotechnical Engineer

The role of the Geotechnical Engineer will be to work closely with the engineering and operational teams on site to provide and implement sound engineering and rock mechanics principles that will ensure stability of stopes and excavations with minimal dilution and ground failure.
