Shaun Drake
Corporate Secretary
Shaun Drake has been providing dedicated corporate secretarial services to reporting issuers since 2000, using his experience to provide effective and practical solutions to clients’ continuous disclosure and governance requirements. Prior to that, Shaun worked in the global trust services industry for fourteen years in Guernsey, Channel Islands and Portugal, and provided corporate services to a private bank. He is an Associate (ACG) of the Chartered Governance Institute. Shaun also acts as Corporate Secretary to various companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and the TSX Venture Exchange.
Steve Filipovic, CPA, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Steve Filipovic is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 18 years of experience in financial management and reporting, M&A, and international risk management, taxation and structuring. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2012, prior to which he held senior finance and director roles with several listed mining companies including Zinifex and Premier’s predecessor Wolfden Resources Inc. Steve received his Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lakehead University and practiced as an Audit Manager with Ernst & Young LLP in their Oil and Gas group prior to entering the mining sector.
Brent Kristof, P.Eng.
Senior Vice-President, Operations
Brent brings to Premier over 35 years of leadership and management of underground and surface mines, with a record of accomplishment that adds value for company stakeholders in health and safety, environment, community relations, engineering, geology, operations, maintenance, capital projects and business improvement. Prior to Premier, Brent was the Chief Operating Officer for Klondex Mines Ltd. His broad experience includes eight years as a General Manager for Barrick at mines in Nevada (Turquoise Ridge Joint Venture), Australia and Papua New Guinea, and eight years as a General Manager for Newmont at mines in Canada and the USA, including Midas and Deep Post in Nevada.
Brent’s primary responsibilities include overseeing the Company’s Mercedes and South Arturo operations as well as participating in development plans for Premier’s advanced projects including McCoy-Cove and Hardrock.
Stephen McGibbon, P.Geo.
Executive Vice-President, Corporate & Project Development
Stephen McGibbon is a Professional Geologist with extensive exploration, mine production and senior management experience. He graduated from Queen’s University at Kingston, in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Sciences. From 1994 until 2006, Stephen served as both Chief Geologist and Exploration Manager for Goldcorp Inc., at its flagship Red Lake Mine operation.
Stephen was a senior member of the team that discovered the “High Grade Zone”, one of the most important gold discoveries of the last 25 years. In his capacity as Chief Geologist and Exploration Manager, Stephen lead a talented team of geologists that helped transform the marginal, high-cost operation into an unparalleled and historic mining success.
Stephen has established a very successful track record at Premier Gold Mines Limited since 2006 that includes revitalizing the historic Geraldton mining camp with a new discovery that today exceeds 7 million ounces of gold. Premier has enjoyed a nearly ten-fold increase in its market capitalization as a result.
Kerri Chaboyer-Jean, CPA, CA
Vice-President, Finance
Kerri Chaboyer-Jean is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 20 years of experience as a finance professional in public practice, manufacturing and mining operations and as a business systems consultant. She has experience in the areas of financial and operational reporting, International Financial Reporting Standards, business process reengineering, ERP system implementations and internal controls.
Kerri started her career with Premier in 2012 as the Corporate Controller having previously held the position of Director of Financial Reporting at San Gold Corporation in Canada. Prior to that, Kerri spent several years in finance roles in the pulp and paper industry and as a senior financial consultant involved in full scale ERP system implementations for small mining and manufacturing companies in Canada and the United States. She received her Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lakehead University and practiced as a senior manager with KPMG before moving into industry.
Peter van Alphen
Chief Operating Office
Peter has more than twenty years of progressive leadership and management of various mining operations from construction projects through to production. Most recently, Peter served as the Country Manager for Canada for Pan American Silver, Vice-President of Operations at Tahoe Resources overseeing their Canadian Operations, and Vice-President of Operations at Lake Shore Gold Corp. Prior to his role at Lake Shore Gold, Peter was the Canadian VP and General Manager for DMC mining services. His broad Canadian operational experience also included five years as Mine Manager and Project Manager with FNX Mining.
Matthew Gollat
Vice-President, Business Development
Matthew Gollat has worked in various capacities with increasing responsibility at Premier since 2008 and currently works on various business development related activities for the Company.
Matt has worked on several initiatives within Premier including its financings, the creation of, development and spin-out of Premier Royalty Corporation, as well as key transactions by the Company including the Trans-Canada Property joint venture, the South Arturo acquisition and Mercedes Mine acquisition and transition.
Mr. Gollat holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lakehead University and completed the Certificate in Mining Studies Program through the University of British Columbia.
