Janice Stasiuk, CEO & President
CPA, CA
 
After joining Belterra in 2012 as Chief Financial Officer, Janice used her creativity and strategic thinking abilities to support and guide the company’s finances, health & safety, human resources, IT and supply chain for four years before taking on the role of Executive Vice President in 2016, and President and CEO in 2017. Today, she is responsible for setting and overseeing the Company’s overall direction while ensuring all members of the Belterra team have the knowledge and resources they need to succeed and thrive. As a passionate, driven, and creative leader, Janice has played an integral role in the development of the Company’s HR policies, its adoption of new technology, and the creation of a workplace culture centred on health, safety, and respect.
 
Prior to joining Belterra, Janice gained over 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles with a diverse array of manufacturing and distribution companies, including Purdy’s Chocolates, QLT Inc. & Integrated Paving Concepts Ltd.
 
Janice is an active community member, having held a position on the Board of Directors for Peace Arch Hospital and Community Health Foundation since 2015. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active with cycling trips across Europe alongside her husband and two adult daughters, or early-morning yoga practice before heading to the office.
 
Sergio Restagno, Senior VP
B.Eng, P.Eng
 
Since 2014, Sergio has provided executive oversight to guide Belterra’s overall direction, operational improvement, and organizational growth. In that time, he has played an important part in securing one of the largest supply contracts in Belterra’s history and leading new sales management improvement initiatives. As Vice President, Midwest & Ontario, Sergio used his background in engineering, project management, sales and business development and strategic planning to drive Belterra’s eastern Canadian operations forward. Now, as Senior Vice President, he oversees operations and pushes for continuous improvement in Belterra branches across the country.
 
Prior to joining Belterra, Sergio spent 17 years in industrial distribution, gaining valuable executive leadership experience as a regional vice president, vice president of business development, and national accounts manager. An ethical, pragmatic, and driven leader, Sergio is committed to helping Belterra staff reach their potential, while helping Belterra clients improve their operations.
 
Sergio is an active member of NIBA (The Association of Conveyor Belting distributors, fabricators, and manufacturers), and participates on the Educational Technical Committee, leading the heavyweight conveyor belt sub-committee. Outside of the office, Sergio enjoys staying active with his wife and two boys, playing basketball, cycling, hiking and practicing yoga. His passion for music and singing have also led him down an interesting path of operatic vocal study and performance over the last 20 years.
 
Martin Guillemette, Regional Manager, BC
 
Martin first joined Belterra’s inside sales team more than 20 years ago, working his way up to become branch manager, Okanagan regional branch manager, and finally regional manager for British Columbia. Over that time, he has managed many major mechanical projects, shutdowns, and acquisitions, but what enjoys most about his job is Belterra’s continued ability to delivery “knock your socks off” service to clients. He believes that Belterra staff are at the core of the Company’s success to date, and is dedicated to supporting their continued development and growth.
 
As Regional Manager, British Columbia, Martin’s day-to-day responsibilities include optimizing the operations of Belterra’s Delta, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, and Prince George locations. He continuously looks for new ways to improve and help the Company excel while solving clients’ greatest challenges. His positive outlook and inimitable laugh are tremendous assets to the Belterra team.
 
In his spare time, Martin enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, as well as building, maintaining, and riding both dirt and street motorcycles.
 
Mark Mackenzie, Regional Manager, Alberta
 
In the nearly two decades since Mark joined Belterra, he has played an important part in the Company’s continued growth and success. In addition to managing some of the Company’s largest mining accounts, Mark was responsible for opening Belterra’s Kamloops branch and building operations there from the ground up. What began as a small operation running out of Mark’s house and the back of a pick-up truck to a full-fledged profitable branch operation.
 
Today, as Regional Manager, Alberta, Mark oversees the continued development of Belterra’s Edmonton, Calgary, and Grande Prairie locations. An enthusiastic, positive, and supportive leader, Mark works to complement the strengths of Belterra’s Alberta employees, helping them to reach new heights.
 
Outside of the office, Mark enjoys staying active with his family, playing soccer, cycling, and hiking. His passion for teamwork and sport have led him to volunteer with many youth and adult soccer boards, as well as coach several youth teams over the past 15 years.
 
Paul Hughes, Regional Manager, Midwest (Sask., Man.)
 
Paul started with Belterra more than two decades ago and has since been involved in a number of the Company’s largest projects in Saskatchewan, including the successful supply of conveyor belting for a major potash mine expansion. His strong agricultural skills, industrial hose and fitting experience, and extensive conveyor belting knowledge position him to support clients in a wide range of industries.
 
Now, as the Regional Manager – Midwest, Paul oversees the operations of Belterra’s Regina, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg branches. He is an enthusiastic and positive leader who focuses on helping staff reach their goals, offering mentorship and guidance to ensure members of the Midwest Belterra teams have the support and knowledge they need to succeed.
 
Outside of office hours, Paul enjoys spending time with family and friends or getting outside to enjoy golf, hockey, or football.
 
Mathieu Landry, Regional Manager, Québec, Labrador & Maritimes
 
Since 2014, Mathieu has used his management, sales, and leadership experience to guide the development of Belterra’s Quebec, Labrador & Maritimes regional team. He is deeply committed to the values of excellence, integrity, and trust—values which he brings to his work with Belterra every day.
 
Before joining Belterra, Mathieu gained more than two decades of experience in the bulk handling industry. In that time he developed a well-rounded understanding of the industry, working his way up from helper to belt mechanic before moving into sales and management. Thanks to this firsthand experience, Mathieu is uniquely positioned to understand the various perspectives that affect his team’s work. Today, he uses this depth and breadth of understanding to ensure both Belterra’s clients and staff receive the reliable, knowledgeable service and expert advice needed, as soon as it’s needed.
 
A graduate of the University of Quebec à Montreal’s Service Management program, Mathieu is currently completing his executive MBA at the same school.
 
Denis Lawrence, Regional Manager, Ontario
 
Denis brings over 27 years of experience in maintenance, distribution, and management to his role as the Regional Manager of Ontario. He is regarded as a hands-on leader who’s not afraid to get in the trenches and lead from the frontlines.
 
Denis provided key contributions to the development of several of Belterra’s locations in Ontario. His understanding of industries such as steel, mining, sand and gravel, and forestry helped the Company achieve tremendous success in a number of projects in the region—including a large blast furnace material handling campaign throughout 2018.
 
When he’s not working, Denis enjoys motorcycling, diving, and building things. He used to serve as the VP and President on the board of directors for a non-profit swim organization, and would love to serve again one day when the right opportunity comes along.
 
Ricardo Montejo, Supply Chain Manager
BCHE, MBA
 
As Belterra’s Supply Chain Manager, Ricardo is responsible for the design and implementation of supply chain tools and initiatives to support the Company’s continued success. Working closely with the finance, IT, and business development teams, Ricardo provides essential support to manage supplier relations, procurement, logistics, and fleet management.
 
Ricardo joined Belterra in 2013, bringing with him more than 20 years of supply chain management experience, and valuable project management knowledge from working with USD$150 million of power generation components. Since joining Belterra, he has played a central role in the design, implementation, and administration of the Company’s Central Warehouse Program. His business acumen and passion for his work are matched only by his desire to consistently deliver shareholders with increased returns on their investments.
 
Outside of the office, Ricardo is a self-professed gym junkie who enjoys coaching football and watching his two sons playing sports and learning from life.
 
Patrick Wong, Head of Information Technology
PMP, SSGB, ITIL
 
As Belterra’s Head of Information Technology, Patrick is responsible for the Company’s day-to-day IT operations, as well as its long-term business systems planning, vision, and project management.
 
With close to 30 years of industry experience in the technology and business arena, Patrick has led numerous systems implementations and business transformations that include data management, ERP, CRM and other enterprise solutions. His focus has been to not only support the operational needs but to showcase how technology can be used strategically in all environments.
 
He has also managed various sized IT teams and transformed many IT operations.
 
Outside of work, Patrick enjoys his time with his family (and dog!), is an avid snowboarder, martial arts enthusiast and workout wannabe.
 
Jotika Chand, Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental
B. Com
 
Jotika came to Belterra in 2014, bringing with her more than 15 years of health and safety, environmental, and disability claims management experience. In her current role, she oversees and supports the development, implementation, and execution of health and safety practices at Belterra. She is committed to continuously improving the Company’s safety culture, ensuring staff at all levels have the training and support needed to return home safely at the end of each day.
 
Jokita’s past experience includes supervising health and safety efforts for the world’s largest baking company where she helped to achieve 3 years without any lost time injuries, and leading project implementation at a high-risk heavy-duty steel manufacturing company, work which helped to reduce injuries by 30% and WCB compliance orders by 80%.
 
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family (particularly her two grandchildren), and volunteering at the SPCA.
 
Martha Lo, Controller
BA, CPA, CGA
 
Martha joined Belterra in 2001. She has more than 25 years of accounting experience from working with a variety of business partners including financial institutions, auditors, and insurance brokers. As Controller, Martha now oversees Belterra’s finance and accounting operations, providing analysis and guidance to all levels of management. Her analytical expertise and systematic approach to problem-solving allow her to support members of the executive team and branch management in guiding Belterra’s continued success.
 
After graduating from University of California, Berkeley with Bachelor of Arts in economics and statistics, Martha went on to obtain her Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified General Accountant designations from CGA BC.
 
Martha is not one to sit still in her spare time—when she’s not analyzing numbers or managing the accounting department, she enjoys travelling with her twin sister.
 
Sabrina Wang, Human Resources Generalist
B. Com, CPHR
 
Sabrina began her career with Belterra nearly five years ago. As HR Generalist, she is responsible for overseeing employee and labour relations, providing support with recruitment activities, and developing implementing HR policies and programs. Since joining the Company, she has played an important role in the creation and delivery of several key internal training initiatives including Belterra University and an apprenticeship program.
 
A graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business, Sabrina
is a highly skilled professional communicator with a knack for organizational development. Her knowledge of HR standards and practices and passion for people allow her to provide expert guidance and support to Belterra staff across Canada.
 
Outside of the office, Sabrina enjoys hiking, swimming, practicing Tai Chi, and playing games with friends. She is also an avid athlete, loving nothing more than an afternoon at the dodgeball court with her team, The Punishers.
