1987

In 1987, Pierre-Yves Blais founds FTE Drilling (Forages Technic-Eau inc.). Partnering with the leaders of F. Lapointe et Fils inc., A company specializing in the drilling of artesian wells and elevator shafts. Using the technical and international experience Mr. Blais has gained during his eight years in the employ of SNC Lavalin, FTE Drilling (Forages Technic-Eau inc.) emerges as a company specializing in drilling projects with complex technical challenges. The first years were devoted to the establishment of a customer base in Canada. FTE Drilling (Forages Technic-Eau inc.) soon proves to be one of the most dynamic, successful and innovative companies in the industry.

 

 

 

 

1992

Ready to expand its scope and wishing to have an international presence, FTE Drilling (Forages Technic-Eau inc.) begins projects in Africa and South America. With the experience of its engineers and technicians and their cutting edge equipment, the company completes several major overseas projects thus giving the company a reputation as a leader in the drilling industry.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1997

In 1997 FTE Drilling (Forages Technic-Eau inc.) establishes a subsidiary in Togo, Forages Technic-Eau Togo sarl. This presence enables them to provide the people of Togo and surrounding countries (Benin, Guinea, Burkina Faso) the benefits of a continuous supply of potable water and thus contributes to their development by facilitating access to this essential commodity .

 

1999

The company continues to expand its presence in Africa by founding Forages Technic-Eau Ltd in Ghana. This overseas expansion is part of a development strategy that allows Forage FTE to share with others its knowledge and expertise in water supply and drilling.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2001

FTE Drilling (Forages Technic-Eau inc.) establishes a division in Nova Scotia by acquiring Brewster Well Drilling. A drilling contractor specialising in artesian wells in the Halifax area. Brewster Well Drilling will continue in the same capacity as its previous owner Mr. Brewster while using the expertise of Forage FTE to expand its services locally.
 

2002

Wishing to expand its business in Canada and seeing the growing interest in geothermal systems, FTE Drilling (Forages-Eau inc.) completes more and more geothermal drilling projects. The company quickly becomes a leader in commercial and industrial projects requiring multiple boreholes with tight schedules, thanks to its expertise in managing large projects.

 

 

 

2005

With its experience in Togo and Ghana, FTE Drilling (Forages Technic-Eau inc.) opens a third branch in Africa, this time in Burkina Faso.



 

 

 

2006

Building on its experience in South America and the increasing demand for mineral exploration, Forages Technic-Eau Burkina sarl provides exploration drilling services to local mining companies. Their first exploration drilling program in Africa began in 2006, the company needed to expand its fleet the following year to keep up with increasing demand .

 

 

 

2008


Drilling FTE(Forages Technic-Eau inc.) acquired the company CF TECH, active in the region of Quebec and Montreal in geothermal drilling. The owner of FC TECH, Michael Chapdelaine, geological engineer, joins the team of FTE. Mr. Chapdelaine is well known in the field of geothermal energy in Quebec. His presence is a major asset to the professional team of Drilling FTE(Forages Technic-Eau inc.).

FTE Drilling (Forages Technic-Eau inc.) sets foot in the Laurentides. This new subsidiary, named Hydro-Géopuits, is headed by Maxime Lachance and works primarily in the residential sector.

 

 

 

2013

Opening of two new divisions in Senegal and Mali.
