When STAS began providing airport security screening services in Canada for the first time on November 1, 2011, you became part of STAS’ history.  The start-up went well and we received positive feedback from CATSA and other stakeholders in the region. 
 
STAS was fortunate enough to have been awarded one of the most unique ‘CATSA regions’ in the country, which includes an amazing combination of languages and cultures that we are proud to show off to our international family.
 
STAS’ Transition Team would like to thank all of our new management, administrative and screening employees across the region for the extra time and effort you put in, the character and patience you have shown and the words of encouragement you have sent us throughout the process.   Let’s keep the momentum going and continue to strive for excellence.

 
STAS’ First Screened Passenger
 
As a departing passenger through the pre-board screening checkpoint at St. John’s Airport in the early morning hours of November 1, Dennis McBride from Springfield Missouri, became the first aviation passenger screened by STAS on Canadian soil.
 
Screening personnel Regina Jordan, John Burden and Gillian Trainor screened their first passenger as STAS employees.
 
Johan Gordts, Vice President Product Development from STAS Belgium and Michael Drake, Director of Service Delivery for Newfoundland and Labrador were on hand to present Mr. McBride with a new iPad in appreciation for his good natured acceptance of all the attention!
