Enhanced Urine Drug Testing Panel – Effective November 1, 2010!
Regulation has been established by the US Department of Transportation that requires laboratories to test for additional substances, as well as implement decreased cut-offs for existing substances.
Although these changes are considered optional for general non-regulated workplace drug testing programs like yours, they will likely become recognized as part of the North American “Gold Standard” testing model. As such, DriverCheck will be implementing the updated drug and alcohol program to include testing for the enhanced panel. DriverCheck is pleased to make this available to you at NO ADDITIONAL COST!
Why switch to the Enhanced Drug Testing Panel?
The enhanced panel will ensure that your company is testing at the highest possible standard, and will better ensure the safety of your employees and equipment by detecting more possible instances of risk relating to substance misuse and/or abuse.
Further, despite the fact that these changes result in increased lab fees for DriverCheck, we are making the enhanced drug testing panel available to you at NO ADDITIONAL COST!
What does the Enhanced Drug Testing Panel include?
The enhanced drug testing panel includes testing of new substances as well as reduced cutoff levels for existing substances, including:
• Mandatory testing for “Ecstasy”, “Eve”, and other similar drug family members (MDMA, MDA, MDEA)
• Mandatory testing for heroin at the screening level
• Lower screening and confirmation cutoffs for cocaine and amphetamines
Is the Enhanced Drug Testing Panel available in Point of Collection Tests?
In addition to offering the enhanced panel for lab-based urine tests, DriverCheck is pleased to offer the enhanced panel for our Point of Collection Test (POCT) kits as well. Again, this will be available to you at NO ADDITIONAL COST!
What are the new cutoff levels of the Enhanced Urine Drug Testing Panel?
New changes are highlighted in Red

Is there an impact to my Drug and Alcohol Policy?
We understand that you have internal policies and procedures that may require revision based on these changes. We encourage you to review your drug and alcohol policy and update any areas that may be affected by these new standards.
We do not expect an impact for most policies as the new drugs tested still fall under the broad categories of the existing 5 panel drug test. By example, Heroin falls under the Opiate Metabolites panel and Ecstasy falls under the Amphetamines/Methamphetamines panel. Where your policy may need revision is if it references classes of drugs or specific cutoff levels without flexibility being built in that allows for amendments from time to time to reflect current and/or updated standards.
Oxycodone Testing Panels also Available!
Please note that for workplace testing programs we offer a wide range of testing panels, including tests for Oxycodone (Oxycontin and Percocet), both for POCT and lab-based tests. We encourage you to consider adding this additional drug to your testing panel to further improve the safety of your employees and equipment.
