In execution of its mission, AIME operates under a foundation model, with principal activities as follows:
- Funding for projects and programs through distributions and grant opportunities
- Forums to share best practices and facilitate collaborative efforts amongst the engineering and scientific community
- Awards, scholarships, and oral histories that honor the AIME legacy and recognize outstanding members and promising students.
