In order to get a proper return on investment, a facility needs to generate a minimum of 2,000 litres of used oil per year. The value of used oil continues to rise, typically over 55 cents per litre, versus other traditional sources of energy. However, as the volumes of used oil increase, the return on investment increases dramatically. Many large generators of used oil may see a payback of 18 months or less.
