Research and academic institutions are indispensible to the development of knowledge, an essential component of innovation. They have the proven intellectual rigour and discipline to build on the iterative knowledge-building process, a key element of innovation.
CEMI’s ability to manage cross-functional research and academic teams, and build on the theoretical knowledge with a practical mindset, helps to bring viable solutions to fruition. Between 2007-2016 CEMI invested close to $10 million across Canadian colleges and universities to advance mining knowledge and mine innovation projects.
The added benefit of this collaboration is the development of highly qualified personnel, important for the future growth of the mining industry.
