Eagle Eye NDT’s diverse experience and technical expertise give us the ability to perform the latest, state-of-the-art Non-Destructive Testing techniques and services to evaluate the properties of materials, components or systems for the oil & gas, pipeline and mining industries. The NDT analysis techniques used to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system do not permanently alter the components of the equipment being inspected. With site-specific specialized mobile and stationary services including examinations, inspections and assessments, NDT saves both money and time in product evaluation, troubleshooting and research.

Eagle Eye NDT’s Test Methods

Ultrasonic Testing

One of the more commonly used NDT methods, Ultrasonic Testing (UT) utilizes high frequency mechanical energy such as sound waves to conduct examinations and measurements on the test area of materials. Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT), including Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and Time-of-Flight Diffraction (TOFD), uses computer controlled, mechanized scanners and transducers to collect real time optimized data on a predefined grid. Data can be obtained from a number of different transducers at one time. AUT utilizes other ultrasonic transducers or techniques in operation, including conventional ultrasonic transducers, TOFD, phased array transducers or any combinations of these. AUT inspection can be used on newly fabricated welds and for in-service inspections, to detect flaws.

Magnetic Particle Testing

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) can detect surface and sub-surface defects exclusively in ferromagnetic materials. Using an electromagnet, a magnetic field is induced and a detection medium applied to reveal irregularities in the magnetic field. Testing is done in the field or at the Eagleye NDT facility.

Liquid Penetrant Testing

Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) is a simple and cost efficient process where a penetrating dye is applied to the surface of ferrous and non-ferrous materials to detect surface defects.

Electromagnetic Wire Rope Testing

Electro-Magnetic (EM) Instruments can provide reliable data on the internal and external deterioration of ferromagnetic steel wire rope caused by corrosion, wear and various changes of rope structure. This includes locked coil ropes and plastic coated ropes.

Radiographic Testing

Radiographic Testing (RT) provides immediate high quality, high contrast, X-ray images during service operations. Corrosion and erosion are easily revealed, as is the precise measurement of pipe wall thickness and weld quality.

Visual Testing

NEW The Visual Testing (VT) of objects, parts or components conducted by qualified technicians in a well-illuminated environment is a time-honoured and reliable non-destructive testing method. This process not only employs line-of-sight contact but optical and mechanical aids.

Hardness Testing

Hardness Testing (HT) includes various methods to measure the hardness of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, as well as various non-metallic materials.

Positive Material Identification

Positive Material Identification (PMI) is a material scan and testing method utilized to verify the chemical makeup of metal assets.
