Bryan Tannenbaum and Daniel Weisz recently joined Collins Barrow Toronto to launch a new restructuring and recovery services practice. This group assists companies at crucial points in their lifecycles, bringing unbiased perspectives and insights to stabilize operations and optimize benefits to stakeholders.

Drawing on their experience from both mid-market and national firms, Tannenbaum and Weisz's practice develops and implements strategies to assist when performance issues or liquidity concerns threaten. They work with lenders, creditors, debtors and other stakeholders to identify and evaluate available options, offering creative solutions and helping lenders maximize their recoveries where appropriate.

“The harsh reality of our economy is that a growing number of businesses are facing performance and cash flow issues,” says Harry Blum, Managing Partner of Collins Barrow Toronto. “To respond to the needs of the market, Collins Barrow Toronto is growing again. Today our team is equipped to effect a turnaround, reorganization, divestiture or, if necessary, realization of company assets.”

Also a Trustee in Bankruptcy, Weisz has over 28 years of experience working with companies in diverse industries. He has led numerous assignments including receiverships, bankruptcies, formal restructurings and business investigations. Weisz has authored articles and presented on a variety of insolvency issues.

“First and foremost, Collins Barrow Toronto is unwavering in its dedication to the middle market,” says Tannenbaum. “This was a factor that played heavily into our decision to join, as Danny [Weisz] and I are committed to providing client-focused service.”
