Welcome to Dräger Academy
 
Dräger Academy is based at our global headquarters in Luebeck, and provides a rigorous framework for development and delivery of Dräger Technical Training courses by local Authorized Trainers in countries around the world.
 
For over 40 years, Dräger Academy has been focused on conveying knowledge to our business partners and customers about Dräger products, their practical use and how to maintain and repair them. Dräger delivers comprehensive knowledge of hazardous materials, firefighting, gas measurement technology and personal protective equipment to help you make your daily work safe and effective.
 
Training Tailored to Your Needs
 
All Technical Training courses are certified by Dräger Academy. The End User Training program provides information on the proper use, operation and maintenance of Dräger products. The Technical Maintenance courses are designed to provide service personnel with pertinent maintenance information, as well as a more detailed explanation of Dräger product technology. All courses include presentations, hands-on training and a test to confirm that the learning objectives have been achieved. Participants receive a binder with the course materials and a Dräger Academy certificate upon successful completion of the course and test.
 
Scheduled Courses are offered at our Mississauga, Ontario and Edmonton, Alberta locations throughout the year. Exclusive courses at customer locations are also offered.
 
Dräger offers three levels of Technical Training courses:
 
Level 1: End-User Training - Intended for users and technicians
Level 2: Technical Maintenance - Intended for technicians
Level 2: Technical Maintenance Recertification - Intended for technicians. Required every 2 years
 
Training Courses
 
Respiratory Equipment
Participants are able to install, configure and test the respiratory equipment according to service manual and Dräger Service test certificate.
 
Gas Detection Equipment
Participants are able to install, configure and test the gas detection equipment according to service manual and Dräger Service test certificate.
 
Alcohol and Drug
Participants are able to configure and test the alcohol and drug detection equipment according to service manual and Dräger Service test certificate.
 
Meet Our Trainers
 
 
Gregory Trahan
 
Gregory Trahan is a senior instructor and technical trainer, focusing on breathing air and oxygen equipment. He repairs all types of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for firefighting and industrial applications and closed-circuit breathing apparatus (CCBA) for mine rescue and tunneling. He also calibrates Dräger Quaestors 5000, Test-it 6100, and RZ7000 test equipment and supports Dräger technical service teams across Canada. He has attended many Dräger Academy training courses in Germany, USA and Canada. Prior to joining Dräger 21 years ago, Gregory was a mine rescuer for 20 years and a certified Mine Rescue Instructor in the Northwest Territories for 5 years.
 
 
Fahad Ansari
 
Fahad Ansari is an enthusiastic, highly motivated technology engineer with more than 10 ten years’ experience in testing embedded systems, troubleshooting and development. Fahad joined Dräger in 2018 and has built strong customer relationships by providing top quality service and training. He is also recognized by the police community for providing exceptional support with roadside drug detection devices. Fahad holds a bachelor’s degree with honours in Electronics Engineering and a Certified Engineering Technologist designation.
 
 
Brett Morpak
 
With more than 15 years’ experience in gas detection and breathing apparatus systems, Brett Morpak is a technical trainer and Dräger-certified service technician. He teaches courses in technical service, best practices and troubleshooting, focusing on SCBA & CCBA technology. Brett works with Dräger’s Product Support and Sales organizations to prepare lesson plans and develop course content needed to support Field Service Technicians. Brett has taken train-the-trainer courses through Dräger Academy and obtained Dräger-certified technical training, including Gas Detection, Alcotest, DrugTest 5000, SCBA and CCBA level 2 training courses. Prior to joining Dräger in 2015, Brett worked as a technician for a Dräger distributor.
 
Stephane Bombo
 
Stephane Bombo manages the Montreal Service Office and is a service technician for self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for firefighting and industrial applications. Stephane is certified by Dräger Academy as a SCBA train-the-trainer. He is also certified by Dräger Academy as a service technician for gas detection, fixed gas detection systems, and drug and alcohol devices. Before joining Dräger in 2001, Stephane was a Technician Team Leader, servicing main frame computers and IBM peripheral equipment. He holds a D.E.C in Electro-Techniques from the C.E.G.E.P.  De Maisonneuve in Montreal.

Bi-lingual Service Coordinator, Safety and Medical Products

Reporting to the Service Support Supervisor, the Bi-lingual Service Coordinator provides support to the Service Operations team for in-house service activities, field service activities, factory repairs, service billings, generating supporting reports, and updating master records, among other possible tasks.
