THE LARGEST ANISHINABEK COMMUNITY ON MANITOULIN ISLAND
 
Located on the eastern peninsula, Wiikwemkoong is home to the people of Three Fires Confederacy: an alliance of the Ojibwa, Odawa and Pottawatomi nations. Wiikwemkoong celebrates its community spirit through several cultural events that draw visitors from all walks of life. Wiikwemkoong is host to the annual cultural festival, fall fair, ice fishing derby, traditional pow-wow, and authentic Indigenous theatre as presented by De-ba-jeh-mu-jig theatre group. 
Indulge in the vast picturesque wilderness that surrounds Manitoulin’s largest community through one of our many private and community operated tourism services. Our large land base offers plenty of opportunity for wilderness exploration at your own pace while enjoying the culture and traditions of the Anishinabek people.

Cultural Tours
 
Wiikwemkoong Tourism offers an array of authentic Indigenous experiences that reflect the cultural lifestyles and traditions of the Anishinabek people of the Three Fires Confederacy – Ojibwe, Odawa, and Pottawatomi. As Manitoulin Island’s largest First Nation community and Canada’s only officially recognized Unceded Indigenous Territory, we welcome you to delve into our rich culture and history through our nature based and cultural tours.
Our guides will take you on a journey through time as you learn of the legends of our people while exploring the vast lands and waters of  Wiikwemkoong. Wiikwemkoong Tourism can also create a customized itinerary for your group, providing experiential learning. Itineraries can range from one to multi-day trips, assisting with meals, lodging, and transportation needs.
 
 
 
Tourist Information Centre
Located at the Small Business Centre, the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) serves as our centralized visitor centre and the launching point to your authentic Indigenous experience.
 
 
Rentals
The Tourist Information Centre (TIC) offers bike and canoe rentals from June to September.
