Vehicle Emergency Kit

It is important to equip your vehicle with an emergency kit in case you run into trouble on the road. Ensure good working order of all items and adjust the contents of your kit according to the season or your travel destination. It's also a good idea to store the kit in a waterproof container.
 
Suggested items:
• Basic tools
• Bottled water and non-perishable snacks
• Cash (bills and small change)
• Cell phone and charger
• Clothing and footwear appropriate for the season
• Compass
• Duct tape
• Emergency blanket
• Fire extinguisher
• First-aid kit and manual
• Flashlight and extra batteries
• Ice scraper and brush
• Jumper cables or a portable battery booster
• Tire gauge
• Tow chain
• Traction mats (or kitty litter or gravel)
• Road maps
• Shovel
• Spare tire, jack, pump, repair kit (sealant)
• Warning light, reflective triangles or flares
