Specially crafted SHOWA gloves can protect you from cuts while handling sharp objects, working in hazardous environments and more.

Cuts And Lacerations Can Happen Anywhere

Cut resistant gloves are essential to your workplace safety. In the workplace, your hands are subject to many hazards. They can be caught between pinch points, be exposed to sharp objects, endure repetitive ergonomic stress, experience slips, trips, and falls, and encounter various line-of-fire-hazards.

SHOWA has created a range of multipurpose cut resistant gloves for a wide variety of medium-low risk applications. With a variety of glove shell materials, palm coatings, cuff lengths, glove or arm protective features, wrist fashioning systems, and more, you can refine your search to select a cut resistant glove for every application.

PROTECT YOUR HANDS FROM A VARIETY OF HAZARDS

There are often many low-grade risks in the workplace that require a generalist protective approach

Common Risks In The Workplace

Whether you work in healthcare, education, or factory settings, the right pair of utility gloves could mean the difference between a smooth-sailing workday and hand injuries that leave you knee-deep in medical bills. SHOWA is here to ensure that never happens.

We manufacture and distribute a diverse range of premium quality general purpose gloves, versatile enough for everyday tasks in the workplace.

PROTECT YOUR HANDS FROM EXTREME COLD

Your hands are especially prone to cold-related injuries.

The Risks Of Working In Cold-temperature Environments

Working in wintry conditions, whether natural or artificial, have hazardous effects on the body—and the hands are one of the first body parts affected.

Exposure to extreme cold forces the brain to keep the internal organs warm by directing more blood flow to the body. It significantly decreases blood circulation in the hands, impairing movement.

PROTECT YOUR HANDS FROM BURNS

Heat-related injuries are among the most dangerous and severe.

HEAT RELATED RISKS IN THE WORKPLACE

One of the most dangerous industrial hazards is fire and heat related injuries. Without proper glove protection, one can be exposed to possibilities of burn while working around extremely hot machinery and materials. As we see with metallurgy environments, workers are constantly around high temperatures accompanied with sparks and flames. When heating metal for welding or shaping, it requires heating the material to degrees as high as 2500 degrees Fahrenheit / 1300°C. During these processes, you, of course, utilize a variety of tools to handle the heated metal. However, that doesn’t mean you are at zero risk of coming into direct contact with the metal should it slip or move out of place.

But also, heat hazards can be found in industrial manufacturing, chemical environments and in automotive. Regarding industrial manufacturing, even if sparks and flames are not present, running machinery can carry high temperatures as well and can burn to the touch. Showa’s heat resistant glove family provides amazing protection for intermittent heat up to 500°F /260°C. SHOWA’s heat resistant gloves are designed to withstand heat exposure while maintaining superior tactile dexterity. Heat resistant gloves can be seen in multiple environments. Gloves within this family also carry other protective features such as abrasion, cut and chemical resistance.

At SHOWA we believe that comfort is as important as the protection, which is why we reduced the weight and improved the efficiency for our new model. In order to offer this premium combination, we engineered a microfiber fabric.

Since the revision of the PPE regulations in 2016, a market-wide downgrade in EN 388 and ANSI 105 cut level scores for re-certified products led to general purpose gloves for medium-low risks decreased from cut level 5-C/A3 to 5-B/A2 and under. At SHOWA, we believe in value for money, safety and comfort. Research shows that many workers use general purpose gloves with low cut resistance levels – the former EN 388 and ANSI cut 5 being B/ A2. Risks of injuries increase and worker’s safety is jeopardised.

SHOWA saw these changes as an opportunity to seriously evaluate our products offered and our customer relationships, asking ourselves: Do our customers really want the cheapest hand-protection solution or the best value for money?
