20 Years of Rock-Tech: It Takes a Community

There’s an African proverb that says – “It takes a village to raise a child.”

 

In a similar way, it takes a whole community to support a business. And as Rock-Tech celebrates its 20th year of business, I want to extend on behalf of our entire team – past, present, and future – our most sincere gratitude to our community. All the people, businesses, organizations, industry and government partners and countless others who have played a part in helping the Rock-Tech team grow and conquer challenges along the way.

 

My experience in starting and growing a business has brought with it plenty of ups and downs.

 

When we started in 1999 it was exciting because it was new; but also intimidating at the beginning as you realize just how much responsibility owning a business comes with. And I can’t even begin to estimate the number of times I’ve second-guessed myself. Being in business is like always being at bat with a daily basket of curve balls just waiting to be thrown our way. My approach is to do what I can to shake it off and see each challenge as just another hurdle in a race that is yet not finished.

 

And every once in awhile we get a perfect pitch thrown our way and someone on the team is ready to hit it out of the park!

 

At the end of every day I look at where we are and find some satisfaction – some days more, some day less – in knowing we’re doing this for the betterment of the industry, our community and even ourselves.

 

We are proud of our progress, our accomplishments and our potential for the future and hope you will join us for the rest of the race!
