Austin Powder Reaches a New Milestone With Global Production

Cleveland, Ohio – August 26, 2019. Austin Powder announces the successful completion of its latest technology transfer of ShockStar detonators to Malaysia.  The Tenaga Kimia-Austin Detonator Sdn. Bhd. (TKAD) production facility in Batu Arang, near Kuala Lumpur, is the fourth location to produce the company’s non-electric detonators. ShockStar detonators are also made in the Czech Republic, Mexico, and Argentina, allowing the global company to better serve its customers with local product and local technical support.

 

ShockStar products made at Austin Powder’s Malaysian operations utilize the same state-of-the-art components and innovative methods that are used to make the product elsewhere around the world. The first ShockStar product was assembled in Malaysia in early 2018, and in the months following, the technology transfer team focused on optimizing the supply chain, refining assembly, and scaling up throughput.
