Automatic Systems Awarded Contract by Abertis Autopistas

Brussels/Belgium – March  24th, 2015 – Automatic Systems, a world leader in the automation of secure entrance control, has been awarded a contract by ABERTIS AUTOPISTAS to supply 601 barriers for toll applications in Spain.
 
Abertis Autopistas is an international market leader in the management of toll roads as well as terrestrial and satellite telecommunication infrastructures. In Spain, the company has managed many highway projects along the whole territory.
 
Automatic Systems' barriers, 495 barriers BL 229 and 106 barriers BL 229 Toll, will serve the Toll Highway Network in the Catalonia region and the highways around Barcelona, Girona and Tarragona.
 
The delivery of the barriers is expected to be completed by July this year.

While the BL 229-type barriers will be used to grant access to the highways, the BL 229 Toll barriers are instead used to allow exiting the highways.

The BL 229 Barrier
The BL 229 rising barrier is a high performance universal barrier intended for a wide range of applications such as traffic management, parking areas, industrial sites and toll roads. Suitable for very intensive use, this very robust barrier can assimilate major vehicle flows.  
 
The BL 229 Toll Barrier
The BL 229 Toll barrier is the ultra-fast version of the BL 229 specifically dedicated to highway toll applications. Its safety/security features, designed for very demanding environments and applications such as the toll market, include boom swing-off device, Protecta ® (carbon fiber) boom and automatic reseating capabilities.
