BOLLORÉ LOGISTICS KOREA FULFILLS ITS CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AMID COVID-19
To help the local community amid the COVID-19 situation, Bolloré Logistics Korea stepped in to support small businesses during these difficult times, provided support to local producers affected by the pandemic by purchasing fruit and vegetables subsequently donated to charities. A financial donation was also made, equivalent to twice the amount of fruit and vegetables purchased.
Employees also took part in a blood donation exercise to help relief efforts. According to data from the Korean Red Cross, the number of blood donors was dramatically reduced during the first five months of 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, posing a threat to the country's blood supply going forward, as the virus spread shows no sign of abating.
Bolloré Logistics Korea has been promoting blood donation activities for seven years and hopes to encourage more people to donate blood and save lives.
"With businesses badly impacted by uncertain health and economic conditions, we felt like we had to step up to fulfill our responsibilities as socially conscious human beings, in line with the philosophy of our CSR Program Powering Sustainable Logistics. At the end of the day, we believe it is the decision to pay it forward that will create a sustainable, virtuous cycle where people can win as a whole", said Ms Yoon-Ju Cho, Managing Director of Bolloré Logistics Korea.
