Boreal Prospectors Association 2009 Symposium and AGM

The symposium will focus on the Far North Planning Process, an Ontario initiative that has the potential to alter the social and economic landscape to a far greater degree than any other initiative since the signing of the Treaties more than 100 years ago. In July the Premier announced a moratorium on all new mines in northern Ontario until more than half of the land base is set aside as parks and planning for sustainable development over the remaining fraction of the land is completed. The province has said that this planning initiative will be "community driven" and the Boreal Prospectors intends to support these communities through this process.

 

The Boreal Prospectors Association is a grassroots organization made up of volunteer individuals with a common desire to provide opportunities for open dialogue and information sharing that will promote prosperity and industry in northern Ontario.
