Canadian Mining Expo 2019 Explores Jobs in Mining

Interested in a career in Mining? The mining Industry wants you! The Canadian Mining Expo 2019 - the Big Event- presents Explore Your Options in Mining to examine ways of increasing employment in the mining sector. Studies on the future labour force needs indicate that up to 3,000 employees will be needed over the next 10 years in Northern Ontario mining.

 

Explore Your Options in Mining begins Wednesday June 5th at 8 a.m-11:00 a.m. in the McIntyre Auditorium starting with a breakfast session on Diversity in Mining. This session discusses the resources and supports that are available to engage Indigenous people, woman, and internationally trained professionals in mining.

 

Breakfast will be followed by presentations, testimonials and discussions on how various stakeholders can work together to increase labour force participation and help address the workforce needs of the mining industry. This session is  hosted by: Mining Industry Human Resources Council (MiHR) and Professions North/Nord.

 

A session on Youth in Mining follows and runs from 11 :30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the auditorium. The session will examine ways of increasing labour force participation in mining.  During this session employers will provide information on employment opportunities to teachers, parents and students. 

 

Job seekers are invited to attend the Northern Ontario Explore Your Options In Mining Job Fair. The Job Fair will take place in the Ballroom from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Bring your resume. The Job Fair is hosted by the Far North East Training Board (FNETB) and Canadian Trade-Ex, along with 40 companies looking to hire.
