Timmins mayor Tom Laughren said no matter where he travels on city business, as soon as people in the mining community find out he's from Timmins, they're asking for details on the mining show that has now become a "must see" event for anyone involved in mining, mining supply and mining exploration. The news event was held to introduce several of the sponsors and key players in the mining expo which is to be held in and around the McIntyre community building. More than 400 exhibitors took part in this year's show, which is also billed as "Canada's largest gold show." One of the common themes at this year's event will be mining employment, as the effort continues to attract new skilled workers to the industry.
