COUNCIL COVID-19 UPDATE
Council met yesterday, with respect to the continuing developments of COVID-19 and how it relates to staff, the community and all our families.
Council has decided to close our offices from now until Monday, April 6, 2020. Everyone will report to work on April 6, 2020 unless otherwise notified. The Kindergarten, Jr. Kindergarten and the Early Learning Centre will continue to be closed, again until otherwise notified.
Our current finance department, Carol DeBruyn and Karin Fraser, have committed to keep our finances in operation. The Council, the Director, Kimberly and myself, owe both Carol and Karin a gratitude of thanks for continuing to operate during this difficult time. All our employees will continue to work from home by regularly checking their work emails and following up where necessary.
As well, the Health Centre staff have been doing community wellness checks on our clients, our elderly (55 and over) and those who access the foodbank. The Health Centre will remain open and if we have missed you in our wellness checks, please contact the Health Centre if you require supplies.
Also, on every Thursday, the Health Centre will provide soup and bread (or some type of meal) for those who ask for it. They will even deliver.
For our Ontario Works clients, letters were provided last Tuesday on March 17th and the Director of Operations will follow up with the OW Administrator about the next steps.
Any Additional information will be provided in both the newsletter and/or radio. Should you need to contact administration, both the Director of Operations and myself will be in the every day.
We take this time to say Anushiik to everyone for their patience and understanding during this time.
Remember, this COVID-19 is a serious virus and we can’t stress enough the need for everyone to stay home.
Again, thank you everyone and stay safe!
During these times, Council has agreed to meet every Monday. So, the next update will either be on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. If there is an update required sooner, we will contact Marilyn to make arrangements for an earlier broadcast.
