COVID-19 STATEMENT FROM NEW WORLD TECHNOLOGIES

ABBOTSFORD, BC (June 2, 2020) – Abbotsford manufacturer of torque wrenches, New World Technologies, confirms two employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

 

“We’ve recently been notified by Fraser Health Authority that two of our employees have tested positive for COVID-19,” says Irene Tod, Vice President, Sales & Marketing at New World Technologies. “They are both at home recovering from their mild symptoms.”

 

Since mid-March, New World Technologies has implemented a COVID-19 Pandemic Preparedness Plan (PPP) based on the recommendations of Health Canada, WorkSafe BC, BC Health and Dr. Bonnie Henry.

“The health and safety of all New World Technologies employees and their families is our top priority. As a closed manufacturing facility with multiple locations, we are thankful this outbreak has only affected one of our departments in an isolated building, where just four people work in a physically distanced environment. If there’s anything other businesses can learn from our experience, is to not get complacent about COVID-19,” says Tod.

 

Fraser Health Authority is in regular communication with the team at New World Technologies and they are satisfied that the company has taken all appropriate measure to minimize the spread of the virus. Additional employees have been tested and will continue to be tested. Apart from the two employees, no one else has tested positive.
