Curiosities about our history come to life in the virtual Vale History Center

Did you know that Vale was created with a 50-year validity period? That the company's first ore ship was insured for damage caused by 'pirates'? Do you know what the connection is between Vale and Princess Diana? Do you want to know how the actor Kirk Douglas influenced the creation of our first uniform? These are some of the stories that built one of the biggest mining companies in the world and that go far beyond mining. Over 78 years, our company was formed by the experiences, learnings, “stories”, memories and dreams of each person that is and has been part of this trajectory. Now, our story comes to life at the Vale History Center!
 
The Vale History Center now gathers, organizes, conserves and disseminates Vale's history in a virtual environment, open to the general public. The project was created in 2011, based on the production of the book and the film “Nossa História” [Our history], which celebrated Vale's 70th anniversary. Since then, reports, documents and relics have been collected and assembled as a true puzzle of the history of Vale and mining in Brazil. It is an opportunity to relive how much you have contributed to our trajectory and to learn more about the achievements that have helped us get here.
 
In a modern and interactive environment, the Vale History Center uses unique navigation: just like a memoir, its many pages of history can be browsed. To do this, just click on the “start” button and use the mouse scroll to navigate the page. It is still possible to use the filters to select categories that most interest you: pioneering spirit, sustainability, technology and innovation, curiosities and people.
