Métis Mining Strategy

Mar 31, 2014

Much like the gold rush in the past, the career rush has begun! With new innovations, technology and growth; careers in mining are exciting and prosperous.

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Métis Mining Strategy is here to provide support for education, training and work placements for Aboriginal students who are interested in panning for a career in mining.

There are a wide range of training programs of study that can lead to exciting careers in mining. Aboriginal students in the program will be given support to pursue the training needed in their chosen career and receive exciting on-the-job work experience from partnering mining companies.

The MNO has opportunities for partnerships with mining companies. Partners will have access to a talent pool of students who are pursuing a wide range of areas. Companies will be matched up with students that fill their specific HR needs and the MNO will also provide wage subsidies for a 12 week work placement.

Apply today! Project scheduled to end March 2015.
