Fourth edition of ISAAC user conference focused on industry issues and the driver experience

Oct 31, 2019
Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville – The fourth edition of the ISAAC user conference was held at Centre des sciences in Montreal on November 13th and 14th and hosted over 250 participants. Attendees interested in learning more about the latest ISAAC solution developments and current industry topics also seized the opportunity to network with other professionals in the transportation industry.

It is always an enriching experience to meet users from all across Canada. The content was delivered in both official languages and carefully selected to provide practical tools and answer concerns, reflecting our commitment to providing a driver-centric fleet management solution. The conference is also an opportunity for our ISAACians to talk with users to better understand their reality. We are their technology partner and it is meaningful for us to take pride in our customers’ success – it’s one of our corporate values.

Jacques DeLarochellière, President of ISAAC Instruments

To tackle the many challenges facing the industry, ISAAC called upon expert speakers in the thick of the changes currently underway. ISAAC wanted to give users preferred, direct access to key resources so that they could address their questions directly. Bill Mahorney, Chief, Enforcement Division at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration reiterated the major points to keep in mind as the transition period from AOBRDs to ELDs comes to an end on December 16, 2019, while Geoffrey Wood, Senior Vice President, Policy at the Canadian Trucking Alliance explained the main features of the Canadian Regulation on Electronic Logging Devices, which will come into effect in June 2021. Expert Dean Croke, Chief Insight Officer at FreightWaves then took the stage by storm for a new look at one of the industry’s most critical issues, the driver shortage.

The conference is quite varied. We have had presentations on regulations, and even though we already know a good deal, there is always more to learn. We also had a very interesting motivational speaker, as well as presentations on ISAAC development and features. It’s a great chance to meet and get to know the people at ISAAC, seeing how we communicate with them on a regular basis.

François Leblanc, General Manager at Transport Besner

To enrich the content even further for attendees, ISAAC used a new schedule that included concurrent workshops. With topics ranging from using HR marketing to support carrier recruitment efforts to the impact of changes proposed by the FMCSA, guests could attend short talks lasting twenty minutes or so. With their experience in the field, presenters were quick to engage their audiences.

This fourth edition of the conference reflected ISAAC’s user-centric focus. The content was selected and presented based on the issues that carriers face so that they can stay one step ahead in this ever-evolving industry.
