Games in copper colors - we know the winners of the competition for the 60th anniversary of KGHM

Become a copper king, live on a copper island or save humanity and invest in copper - we know the winners of the competition for the best red metal game. Almost 200 game developers from all over Poland took part in the Miedź Jam competition organized on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of KGHM Polska Miedź SA
 
- The competition clearly showed not only that the future is made of copper, but also that the future belongs to committed, talented people. Extremely interesting game offers have been created, which show how interesting and important copper is. I am glad that this metal was an inspiration for young artists. I believe that the future of the Polish gaming industry will be permanently associated with initiatives such as Miedź Jam - said Marcin Chludziński, president of KGHM Polska Miedź SA
 
We present the results of the competition:
 
  1. place - the Joyhop team with the game "In the Copper King's Grotto" - it is an atmospheric game in which the participant takes on the role of Bronzebeard - the dwarf must wake the King and save the future of his people. A journey into the depths of the cave, blocked passages and ghosts defending underground riches await players.
  2. place - Drunken Dwarver team with the game "The Last Copper" - the player manages a space research facility, the purpose of which is to mine and send copper to Earth. The game focuses on proper resource management, investing in various industries and building new structures.
  3. place - XCVZXC team with the game "Copper Island" - the game is a post-apocalyptic economic strategy in which the world has failed to prevent global warming. People have taken refuge on the top of the mountain where the copper mine is located. The player's goal is to build an ark and escape from an island that is slowly plunging into the ocean.
 
The winner in the browser game category was the Pretzels team with the game "Miedziopolis" - it is a dynamic action game in which the player extracts resources, defeats creatures and expands the city of the future.
 
The first place prize was 10,000. PLN, for the 2nd place - 3 thousand. PLN, and the third - 2 thousand. PLN. The special prize for the best browser game was PLN 10,000. PLN. Importantly, from June, all games will be available for free on GamePlanet, and the best titles will be additionally promoted.
 
The main organizer of the event and the sponsor of the awards was KGHM. The main patron of the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport and gamejam's partners were also: better. gaming agency, GamePlanet, Game Industry Conference. The media patrons were: Komputer Świat, PolskiGamedev.pl, EsportMania.pl.
